Audrey Carlene Locke Cunningham, 69, of Madisonville, KY

 

MADISONVILLE, KY - Audrey Carlene Locke Cunningham, 69, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 9:13 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at her home.

She was born October 5, 1942 in Madisonville, KY to the late Oscar Lee Locke Sr. and Idalene Hanley Locke.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by four brothers and one sister. Oscar Lee Locke Jr., Jim Odell Locke, Kenneth Ray Locke, Donald Lloyd Locke and Betty Sue Locke Cunningham.

She is survived by a spouse, Charles Benjamin Cunningham and her son and care giver Richard Lee Cunningham of Madisonville. One brother Vernon Ray (Mona) Locke, Milwaukee, WI; Brother-in-Law Johnnie Jr. (Marie) Cunningham; Sister-in-Laws Mildred Cunningham Crabtree and Tina Cunningham both of Madisonville and several nieces and nephews. She dedicated her life’s mission, in addition to being a wife and mother, to spreading a message learned from her father that you weren’t fully dressed for the day until you put your smile on. Bringing that message thru laughs, gags, and an upbeat nature to all she encountered she was an organizer of a local public service club in Madisonville; and beneficiary to numerous local individuals in addition to being co-owner of Cunningham Lin-Gas. A lifetime fan of musician Marty Robbins, she spent her summers watching birds and enjoying camping activities and fellowship with area lake enthusiast and attending stock car auto races as a fan.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rose Creek Road, Madisonville at 10 a.m. on Thursday February 9, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Hospice of Western Kentucky Spiritual Counselor Bruce Treon officiating. Arrangements are handled by Harris Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hopkins County Historical Society (Publications), 107 Union Street, Madisonville KY 42431.
