MADISONVILLE, KY - Betty Sue (Nan) Higgins, 65, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Madisonville.

She was born August 13, 1946 in Madisonville, KY to the late Hazel Lee Smith and Mary M. Gunther Smith. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Smith, and one brother, James Smith.

Ms. Higgins was a member of Earlington United Methodist and had a fond love of nature and its beauty.

She was survived by one daughter, Kristi (Ronnie) Wedding of Madisonville; one son, Jeff (Shellie) Higgins of Madisonville; three sisters, Carolyn Allsbrook of Providence, KY, Loretta Brooks, Sparta, IL, and Sharon Pulley of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Bennie Pendergraff of Madisonville; and four grandchildren, Zachary Freeman Wedding, Ben Thomas Wedding, Malorie Higgins and Lillian Higgins.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Earlington United Methodist Church with Bro. Marty Martinez and Bro. David Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and after 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlington United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be made available at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.
