Prescription Drugs Target of Burglary

BURGLARY DOORHOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/7/12) – A burglary in Northern Christian County was apparently a search for prescription drugs. According to the Christian County Sheriff’s report, Jurild Stanley told authorities that someone had entered his home sometime Sunday morning or early afternoon.

Stanley advised that he had left the home around 9 a.m. Sunday morning and returned around 12:45 p.m. Upon his return, he found that someone had broken out the glass window of the back door to his residence to gain entry.

Once inside the home, the suspect(s) rummaged through a bathroom medicine cabinet. Nothing else in the house appeared to have been disturbed. The suspect(s) left the scene without taking anything from the house.

The gate to the driveway was closed and locked according to the sheriff’s report. From this, authorities conclude that those involved must have either crossed a nearby stream on foot or come through the adjacent woods to get to the Stanley home.

A short, rusty metal bar that did not belong to the victim was found in the bathroom. Authorities believe it may have been brought by the suspect(s) and used to break out the back door window.

Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to contact the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
