ELKTON, KY - Mitchell W.(Mickey) Sherrod, age 56 of Elkton, passed away 4:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at his residence of natural causes.

He was born in Logan County, Kentucky on June 18, 1955 the son of Ivydean Roe Sherrod of Elkton and the late James Willard Sherrod. Mickey was a member of the Allegre Baptist Church and had served as Past Song Leader at the Northside Baptist Church and was also a Certified Storm Spotter.

Mickey is survived by his Mother, Ivydean Sherrod of Elkton, one sister Phyllis Sherrod Moore of Elkton, two Nieces, Cristy and Beth Sherrod and one Nephew, Jamie Sherrod.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Sherrod in 2004 and Charles Randal Sherrod in 1963.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Latham Funeral Home.
