ELKTON, KY - Carl Hugh Francies, age 75 of Elkton, passed away 12:05 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at his residence of natural causes.

Carl was born on August 18, 1936 the son of the late Otho and Lola Willis Francies. He was a retired Lineman for Pennyrile Rural Electric for 38 years. Carl was a member of Elkton Baptist Church and a past member of the Masonic Lodge.

Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Jo Wilhite Francies in 1970 and two brothers, Gilbert Francies and Otho Francies Jr. and three sisters, Ruby Wilborn, Mary Endres and Dorothy Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Groves Francies of 34 years, one daughter, Karen Scott of Elkton, two sons, Mark Francies of Elkton, and Jeffrey Francies of Ashland City, Tenn. one step son, Gary Wayne Wilson of Elkton, one step-daughter, Lisa Laster of Elkton, three sisters, Geraldine Franklin of Champaign, Illinois, Ruthelle Crafton of Summer Shade, Kentucky, and Clotine Adams of Louisville, Kentucky, and Six Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Rev. Mark Keith and Rev. Tommy Wilhite officiating and burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Latham Funeral Home.
