ford booking photoEDDYVILLE, Ky. (7/28/17) — Kentucky State Police reported a Hopkins County man working as a corrections officer at West Kentucky Correctional Complex in Lyon County was arrested.

KSP received a call from the complex Sunday morning requesting a trooper concerning a worker believed to have slipped drugs into the state correctional facility, according to a KSP news release.

After Trooper Aaron Acree investigated, Danny L. Ford, 49 of Dawson Springs was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting contraband.

Ford is being held in Caldwell County Jail.

KSP revealed Acree confiscated “a large quantity of Suboxone” during his investigation.

Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat heroin addiction and those dependent upon opiates.

The investigation is ongoing. KSP asks anyone with information to call KSP Post 1 at (270) 856-3721 or anonymously by calling 1–800-222-5555.
