haunted lantern tourBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (8/9/17) — Open auditions for “Haunted Lantern Tours – Legends of the Rail Yard Workers” will take place at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum on Friday, Aug. 18.

The Historic RailPark & Train Museum will hold an open call audition for adults and children for the production of the 3rd Annual Haunted Lantern Tours on Aug.18. Male and female actors as young as 6 years old are needed to play various characters during the productions evening tours.

Audition signups will take place in the museum of the L&N Depot on a first-come, first served basis on beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 18. Every participant auditioning for a speaking part should bring a picture. Auditions will consist of a cold read provided during the audition procedure.

Actors are needed for the following characters/storyteller roles:
Engineer – multiple young, middle age and mature males – ghostly workers
Conductor – multiple young, middle age and mature males – ghostly characters
Porter Smith – middle age or mature male – ghostly Pullman porter worker
Roscoe – middle age or mature male – ghostly character rail yard worker
Rail Yard Tom – middle age or mature male – ghostly character rail yard worker
Dining Car Dave – young boy or middle age male – ghostly character dining car worker
Dining Car Ghost – all ages, male and female – ghostly characters in dinning car
Ghost Travelers – all ages, male and female – ghostly traveler characters in sleeper car
Young Girl – young girl with some speaking lines
Roscoe’s Ghost – middle age or mature male – ghostly character rail yard worker
Rail Yard Tom’s Ghost – middle age or mature male – ghostly character rail yard worker

The character line up for this year is predominately male characters and we encourage both male and female actors to audition for these roles. Crew members for props, costumes, extras and sound effects are needed as well. If you would like to volunteer in any capacity for this production, please feel free to come to the audition to complete a crew application.

Haunted Lantern Tours will come alive again this October for our third year. This year we will reveal the Legends of the Rail Yard Workers. Visitors will encounter ghostly rail way works throughout the Depot and our restored railcars. Storytellers will share a tale with you sure to give you a case of the goosebumps. These historical tales come straight from the old days of train travel.

Step back in time with from 6 – 9 p.m. select evenings Oct. 13 through 28. Family Fun Night will be back again. Admission will be half price during Family Fun Night. Join us during the evening tours we will have sacks and beverages available for purchase.
