Governor Appoints Two Northwest Kentuckians to State Boards

beshear a 300HENDERSON, KY (1/30/12) – The governor recently named two local citizens to sit on two different state boards. Both appointees were selected based on their expertise within their respective professions.
 
Kelly Jenkins, a Waverly resident, was chosen by Governor Beshear for a term representing the Board of Nursing. Her term will expire at the end of June 2015. Jenkins is a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital in the ICU and telemetry units.
 
Kentucky statute recommends the governor appoint individuals to serve on one of seven committees. Jenkins’ role will be to represent registered nurses who are also nurse service administrators from the Kentucky Organization of Nursing Leaders.
 
Dale Sights, a Henderson resident, was also selected by the governor. Sights has been appointed to sit on the Financial Institutions Board. As president of the Bank of Henderson, Sights will provide guidance on behalf of the banking industry. His term will expire in October 2015.
 
Kentucky statute recommends that the Financial Institutions Board should consist of representatives from all segments of Kentucky’s financial industry chosen from the general public. Three representatives from the banking industry are recommended.
