MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY (1/30/12) - Camron Laycock recently announced his candidacy for Muhlenberg County Circuit Court Clerk.
Camron Laycock is a 1998 graduate of Muhlenberg North High School. Laycock earned a baseball scholarship from Oakland City University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2003, Camron married Marla Knight and the couple has one daughter, Marlee.
Gaining experience as a Classification and Treatment Officer at Green River Correctional Complex from 2002 to 2003, and as a Probation and Parole Officer in Muhlenberg County for the last 8 and 1/2 years, Camron Laycock has supervised offenders on probation and parole and worked closely with the court system.
After passing the Circuit Court Clerk's Exam and giving a two-week notice to probation and parole Laycock announced his candidacy on January 18, 2012.
When asked what he hopes to achieve if elected as Circuit Court Clerk, Camron Laycock told SurfKY reporters, "I will make the office more convenient for the working citizens of Muhlenberg County by staying open one evening longer weekly. I promise to the voters that I will be a full time worker in the office daily. I will be out front in the office so that you can speak to me face to face along with my staff. I feel that Muhlenberg County deserves a Circuit Court Clerk that will take a leadership role and be there for the general public and my staff."
The public will soon have an opportunity to meet the candidate. A rally will be held for Laycock's campaign on Thursday, Febuary 2, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Convention Center Inn, in Powderly.
"I look forward to meeting everyone at the rally who can attend and making new friends. I am confident that I can make a difference in the office by bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas," Camron Laycock stated.
