DSC 1324UPDATE: BREMEN, Ky. (11/20/18) — Muhlenberg Emergency Management Director Keith Putnam said today the National Weather Service in Paducah classified Saturday afternoon's weather event near Bremen as an EF-1 tornado.

Damage in the area was consistent with a small twister causing the loss of outdoor structures and trees.

ORIGINAL STORY:

BREMEN, Ky. (11/18/17) — A possible tornado hit the 10,000 block of Kentucky 181 North this afternoon shortly after 3 p.m. near Bremen.

Bremen Fire and Rescue and Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office reported to the scene where a tobacco barn was demolished. Debris from the barn was strewn over a field and across the road into yards of nearby homes, where trees were broken and uprooted.

DSC 1317According to scanner reports, several residents of the area reported that a tornado had come through.

Muhlenberg Emergency Management will report to the National Weather Service about damage in making a determination about tornado status.

The damage was mostly contained to a path about 2,000 feet wide.
