bluegrass cellular 300ELIZABETH, KY. (2/14/14) – This spring, local teens will have the opportunity to help put an end to texting and driving in south central Kentucky with Bluegrass Cellular’s DRIVE NOW. TEXT L8R. PSA contest.

The contest, open to high school students living in Bluegrass’s 40-county home-service area, challenges students to produce short television public service announcements that discourage others from texting while driving.

“We’re asking local high school students to help us spread this important message because they’re the experts,” said Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. “They know their friends, their families and their neighbors, and they know how to encourage them to do what’s best. With that kind of knowledge and support, we can make a greater, lasting impact on the community as a whole.”

DRIVE NOW. TEXT L8R. PSA Contest Offers Local Teens a $1,000 Prize

Students have from now until Friday, April 18, 2014, to submit their videos. Once submitted, the PSAs will be reviewed and scored by an expert panel of judges that includes Barry Nothstine, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bluegrass Cellular; David Vawter, Chief Creative Officer of Doe-Anderson, a Louisville-based advertising agency; and Trooper Jeff Gregory, Public Affairs Officer for the Kentucky State Police. A portion of the final score will also come from a community vote, which Bluegrass Cellular will host via social media.

The winning PSA, to be announced May 1, 2014, will air on local television and in Bluegrass Cellular stores throughout the month of May.

The winning student or team of students will receive $1,000, as well as the opportunity to shadow the WBKO newsroom in Bowling Green or advertising agency Doe-Anderson, depending on their interests.

For a complete list of guidelines, submission instructions and to find the nearest Bluegrass Cellular Customer Care Center, visit Bluegrass Cellular.

Students can also pick up an informational packet from their school guidance counselors or one of Bluegrass Cellular’s Customer Care Centers.
