LEXINGTON, Ky. (3/22/13) – Motorists should plan for heavy traffic in downtown Lexington on Saturday as fans crowd Rupp Arena for the third round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
Louisville takes on Colorado State at 5:15 PM and the Marquette versus Butler game will begin 30 minutes after the first game’s conclusion. Doors open at 3:45 p.m.
Lexington police will use the standard game day traffic operation, with officers on every corner helping motorists enter and exit parking lots, according to a city news release.
Parking for the tournament games will be the same as it is for the UK home games at Rupp Arena, Lexington Police Commander Thomas Curtsinger said in a news release. Most fans will be directed to the Cox Street lot in back of Rupp Arena or to the large lot between East High Street and East Maxwell Street in front of Rupp Arena.
Fans traveling from Louisville should come into Lexington via the interstate to avoid the construction on Versailles Road.
