LEXINGTON, Ky (10/22/13)—Community Supported Art (CSA) is a program that the Lexington Art League presents as being Kentucky’s first community supported arts program that encourages and supports the creation of local art, cultivates the talent of local artists and enhances the experience of local collectors.
CSA(rt) is a way that the Lexington Art League highlights the work of local artists, and you are invited to be part of this project by becoming a shareholder. Shares that have been purchased for the fall will be available for pickup beginning October 25. To celebrate the Lexington Art League is hosting a pick up party on the 25 from 6-9 pm at the LAL Loudon House. It is free for everyone and they encourage that even those that did not purchase a share come and enjoy the live music and find out more about the program.
Participating artists will be on site, providing an opportunity for CSA(rt) shareholders to connect with their local artists and ask questions about them and their work. Those artists that participated in the fall crop are dRock Press, Bianca, Spriggs, Rabbit Catastrophe Press, Helene Steene, Emily Hagihara, Daniel Graham, Guy Mendes, Kate Sprengnether, Dovetail, and Robert Beatty.
From 6-9 music by Emily and Ancient Warfare, refreshments and food by Seasons Catering and art will be on site.
