HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (4/22/13) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Detective Dan Morck arrested a Hopkinsville man on charges relating to child exploitation.
Jason R. Miller, 39 of Hopkinsville, KY, was charged with the following offenses:
- Unlawful Use of Electronic Means to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual or Other Prohibited Activities (1 count)
- Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor (30 counts)
Both charges are Class D felonies. He was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
Miller was arrested as a result of an investigation that began in September of 2012. Miller is accused of having numerous conversations with an out-of-state victim, who is a minor. The conversations were sexual in nature.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of child pornography. The investigation is continuing by Detective Morck. KSP Det. Lonnie Kavanaugh and Trooper Sean Wint assisted Det. Morck with the arrest.
The KSP is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
