lane restriction 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (1/14/14) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the US 62 Green River Bridge at Rockport and the Western Kentucky Parkway Green River Bridge starting Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Lane restrictions at these locations are for the replacement of navigation lighting systems on both bridge structures.

Motorists traveling across the U.S. 62 Green River Bridge at Rockport at the Muhlenberg-Ohio County Line can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternat-ing flow controlled by flaggers during daylight hours.

Motorists traveling the Wendell Ford-Western Kentucky Parkway Green River Bridge can expect to encounter daytime lane restrictions at WK Parkway mile point 65.675 at the Muhlenberg-Ohio County Line.

Appropriate caution is required in these work zones due to personnel and equipment working on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Work at both locations is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $245,200 project.
