FRANKFORT, KY (2/15/12) – Chris Perry, a veteran state parks employee, has been named the new manager at Carter Caves State Resort Park, Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker announced today.
Perry, 38, is from Olive Hill and has worked for the parks system for 18 years, most recently as the front desk supervisor at Carter Caves. He received his degree from Morehead State University in 1996. He also performs volunteer work with local schools.
“Chris brings a wealth of experience to the park manager’s position at Carter Caves,” Walker said. “He understands the important role the park plays in the community and how it supports tourism in the region.”
Carter Caves State Resort Park features a lodge and vacation cottages. The lodge restaurant offers a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There’s also hiking, camping, horse camping, golf, mini-golf, fishing, horseback riding and cave tours. The park is located in northeastern Kentucky, 4 miles off Interstate 64 between Grayson and Olive Hill (exit 161).
