LEXINGTON, KY (2/16/12) - The iconic specialty license plate featuring a foal lying in the grass is about to be updated, according to the Kentucky Horse Council (KHC) which sponsors the plate.
Four possible new foal designs are under consideration, and the Horse Council is asking the public for their input. Starting Wednesday, February 15th, a poll will be held for anyone wishing to vote on which design is the most attractive.
"The Horse Council's existing horse license plate has been very popular with both horse owners and the general public, and that has allowed us to provide educational programs and leadership activities on a consistent basis," said Anna Zinkhon, President of the Kentucky Horse Council. "But it's time for a new look, and we want to hear from all Kentuckians on the design choices for our new horse license plate. Because the current foal is so popular, we have created variations of that theme for the new designs."
"We look forward to hearing from all Kentuckians regarding which image they would best like to put on their vehicle," said Ginny Grulke, Executive Director of the Horse Council. "The Commonwealth deserves a great horse license plate for our signature industry."
The poll shows the four designs being considered and a chance to choose a favorite. The poll is be available on the Horse Council website at kentuckyhorse.org. It will close at the end of the day on March 2, 2012.
The newly designed license plate will be available in 2013.
