WESTERN KY (5/3/12)—Starting today, May 3rd, and running all the way until midnight on Saturday, May 5th, state law enforcement officials from six states will be cracking down on drivers breaking the law along I-70 and I-75.
The mission of the six-state initiative? To target and arrest drivers under the influences of alcohol or drugs. In addition to increased criminal patrol along portions of the I-75 and I-70, the cooperative effort will allow for stronger intelligence sharing across state lines.
Kentucky State Police (KSP) posts participating in the cooperative effort include Post 6, Dry Ridge; Post 7, Richmond; Post 11, London; Post 12, Frankfort; and the KSP Special Operations Branch headquartered in Lexington, KY.
The commonwealth’s team of troopers will be working alongside members of the Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Indiana State Police departments, as well as the Ohio State Patrol.
