Bids to be Opened for Downtown Crossing of Ohio River Bridges Project

ky trans 300FRANKFORT, KY (11/14/12) – Kentucky Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock will lead a media briefing on Thursday, Nov. 15, prior to the opening of bids for the contract to construct the Downtown Crossing of the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project.
 
Secretary Hancock and other Transportation Cabinet personnel will explain the process of design-build bidding, in which bids are scored on multiple criteria and a contract is awarded on the basis of “best value,” as opposed to low bid.
 
The briefing will be in Conference Room C106 of the Transportation Cabinet Office Building (TCOB), 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, Ky. The conference room is adjacent to the auditorium where the public bid opening will take place.

•4 p.m. Deadline for bids of Design-Build Teams to be received
•4:15 p.m. Opening of price proposals, TCOB Auditorium, first floor
 
Parking is available to the public along both sides of Mero Street, in front of the TCOB and on the ground floor of the East Parking Structure (Holmes Street side of the TCOB).
