FRANKFORT, Ky. (2/18/13) – On Thursday February 14, 2013 at 5:12 P.M. Kentucky State Police Post 9, in Pikeville, KY, received a call from Paintsville/Johnson County 911 requesting assistance with a shooting complaint in the Paintsville Community of Johnson County.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Michael Haney and KSP Detective William Petry responded to the scene. Information obtained at the scene indicated that Jeffery Irvine, 43-years-old of Paintsville, Ky. fired a weapon into a residence striking a female which was inside. The female was transported to Saint Mary's Medical Center for her injuries. The female is listed in critical condition at this time.
Irvine was arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on one count of Assault-1st Degree.
This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective William Petry. The Victim's name has not been released at this time.
