West McCracken Teen Injured After In Rollover Accident

rollover acc2PADUCAH, Ky. (3/14/13) – The operator of a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix received multiple injuries as a result of a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred in the 5500 block of Bradford Road on Wednesday, March 13.

The initial dispatch at 11:25 AM was that the passenger car had rolled several times and a female occupant had been thrown from the vehicle. The investigation revealed that a 17-year-old female was traveling northbound on Bradford Road prior to the accident. As the youth topped a small hill, she met another car traveling in the opposite direction. The operator of the other vehicle stated that the youth was driving in the middle of Bradford Road and when the two met, the youth swerved toward the right side of the road and dropped off the edge of the roadway. The youth then overcorrected, which caused the car to slide sideways completely across the roadway and into the opposing ditch. When the car hit an earth embankment, it began to roll several times before coming to rest on the roof in the ditch. The youth was thrown from the car and came to rest next to her car in the ditch.

It was determined that the youth was wearing her seatbelt, but due to the violent nature of the roll, she slipped out of her seatbelt. She was treated and transported by Mercy Regional EMS to Baptist Hospital.
