FRANKFORT, Ky. (3/15/13) – On Thursday, March 14, 2013, at approximately 11:13 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of residential fire at a residence on Highway 1009 South in Wayne County, KY.
Upon arrival KSP Post 11 Arson Investigator Detective Brian Lewis began an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire. Preliminary investigation indicates the fire originated in a bathroom located in the rear of the residence. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but no foul play is suspected.
Two residents were transported from the scene to the Wayne County Hospital where they were pronounced dead. One resident was located inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth resident was transported from the scene to the Wayne County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The identities of the victims are not being released by the Kentucky State Police at this time pending notification of family.
Detective Lewis is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by officers of the Kentucky State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the Wayne County EMS, the Wayne County Coroner's Office and Susie Fire Department.
