WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/20/13) - The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.
Providence Police
Providence Police Chief Brent McDowell Reported the following arrests and accidents:
Tue., March. 12, 2013
•Elizabeth Stone, age 81 of Nebo, baked into an unoccupied vehicle in the Sureway Parking Lot.
Wed., March. 13, 2013
•William Frazier, 41 of South Carrolton, KY, was arrested on a Bench Warrant.
Thu., March. 14, 2013
•Travis Turner, 19 of Providence, was cited to court for Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance/Security 1st Offense.
Sat., March. 16, 2013
•Mariah Herreria, 17 of Providence, was cited to court for speeding.
Sun., March. 17, 2013
•Christopher Williams, 54 of Dixon, was backing out of a parking spot and struck a light support.
Sheriff’s Report
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield also reported the following accidents:
Mon., March. 4, 5:36 p.m.
Deputy Scott Starkey responded to an accident on US 41 in Sebree. According to the report, Krystal Hook, 24 of Clay, had begun to slow down when Danette M. Emery, 46 of Hanson was unable to stop in time, striking her rear bumper. There were no injuries reported and both Emery’s 2012 Ford Focus and Hook’s 2001 Pontiac Sunfire left under their own power.
Mon., March. 8, 11:36 a.m.
Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported to an accident on KY 109 in Clay. According to the report, Jennifer Majors, 39 of Robards, was traveling southbound when an unidentified white pickup crossed the center line. Majors swerved to avoid collision and her 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo struck a concrete sidewalk, causing damage to the tire and rim. No injuries were reported and the vehicle left under its own power.

Webster County - Grand Jury
The Webster County Grand Jury convened on Thursday, March 12, 2013 and handed down the following indictments and decisions:
•Wendell Cowan, 40 of Uniontown, KY, was indicted on charges of Reckless Driving, Speeding Greater than 26 mph Over, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, Failure to or Improper Signal, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, as class D felony, Operating on Suspended or Revoked License, a class B misdemeanor, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class D felony, 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police, a class D felony, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs 2nd Offense, a class B misdemeanor, 3rd Degree Assault of a Police Officer, a class D felony, 1st Degree Disorderly Conduct, a class A misdemeanor and Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
•Shane Robert Green, 36 of Clay was indicted on charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a class B felony, 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) , a class D felony and Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
•Coty Newman, 30 of Clay, was indicted on a charge of Receiving Stolen Property (under $10,000), a class D felony.
•Brian Welton, 33 of Providence, was indicted on a charge of Flagrant Non Support, or failure to pay child, support in the amount of $10,000.
Webster County - Circuit Court
The Webster County Circuit Court passed the following judgment and sentences:
•Traci A. Wilmoth plead guilty to Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol, a class D felony, Driving on a Suspended License 2nd Offense, a class A misdemeanor and Failure to or Improper Signal, a minor violation.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Wilmoth to a maximum of five years in prison for the DUI, 12 months for the misdemeanor and a $20 fine for the traffic violation, all to run concurrently.
•Brandon E. Jones plead guilty to 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Meth) by Complicity, a class D felony.
Jones also plead guilty to Receiving Stolen Property (under $10,000) a class D felony.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Jones to five years in prison for each charge. They will run consecutively for a total sentence of ten years.
•Joshua Thomas Walker, jointly and severally with Co-Defendants Ronnie N. Poe and Amanda Walker, was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,609.44 for the benefit of West Kentucky Steel.
