FRANKFORT, Ky. (4/30/13) – The Kentucky Labor Cabinet is extending its outreach efforts by adding a Spanish-language module to its curriculum-based, online training program.
“The ‘Introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’ module provides valuable information regarding the history of OSHA, employee rights, the inspection process and numerous other topics,” said Labor Cabinet Secretary Mark Brown. “The entire eLearning program provides tremendous value for employers and employees and has been very popular since last year’s launch. It is very exciting to see that our outreach efforts are going to touch an even wider audience.
“This self-guided resource can be thought of as an ‘online school’ for those interested in broadening their knowledge of occupational safety and health,” added Brown. “Our main objective with the eLearning initiative is to connect the state’s workforce to no cost, effective training for workplace safety and health.”
Classes are free-of-charge, and can be accessed 24/7 from any internet-based computer. To date, more than 12,000 people have participated in the online training courses and webinars.
The Labor Cabinet’s eLearning team continues to enhance the growing library of interactive training modules, and live and recorded webinars. This resource is free to everyone and simply requires a high-speed internet connection. Visit the website to experience the advantages of free safety and health training. The training website can be found at www.laborcabinetetrain.ky.gov.
