FRANKFORT, Ky. (10/12/13) – The 2013 Rose Awards honored Linda Edwards, longtime Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Kentucky State Fair Board, with the Meeting Planners Choice Award.
The Meeting Planners Choice Award is presented to an employee that “embodies the spirit of hospitality and has provided an unforgettable experience to meeting and event organizers.” Edwards, a 19-year veteran of the Fair Board, is crucial in booking more than 315 events held annually at both Kentucky State Fair Board managed properties. The award was selected by other meeting planners. Gayle Johnson, Senior Event Coordinator at the Kentucky International Convention Center, was also nominated for the award.
Held at the Louisville Marriott Downtown, the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau’s annual Rose Awards recognizes service excellence in the local tourism and hospitality industries.
The Kentucky State Fair Board operates two properties, the Kentucky Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center, which hosts numerous meetings, trade shows and events. The Kentucky State Fair Board accounts for $460 million annually in economic impact for the local community.
