GREENVILLE. Ky. (12/10/13) — The Greenville Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision this morning on South Main Street that turned out to be a fatality.
Janet Tinsley, 66, of Lewisburg, was traveling southbound on South Main Street at approximately 6:59 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. For unknown reasons, Tinsley's 2003 Nissan Xterra exited the east side of the roadway, traveled approximately 177 feet, and struck a tree.
Tinsley was wearing a seat belt. Tinsley was pronounced dead at the scene by Muhlenberg County Coroner's Office. The collision is being investigated by GPD Assistant Chief Duane Harvey.
Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office, Muhlenberg EMS, Greenville Fire Department and Central City Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
