FRANKFORT, KY (12/20/11) – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Energy and Power Subcommittee, announced on Monday that the full House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton will take up the Energy and Revenue Enrichment Act of 2011 which was authored by Whitfield.
The markup is set for Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., which is the first day Congress returns to session.
“Over the past few months, I have been working to address the concerns of my colleagues and other stakeholders involved in this important legislation and I am happy to report that we have crafted a bill that addresses those concerns,” said Whitfield. “I am pleased to see that the full Energy and Commerce Committee has agreed to take up my bill, in regular order, that will preserve jobs and generate billions of dollars in revenue for the federal government.”
