LEXINGTON, KY (1/5/12) - A group of well-established Kentucky municipal advisors joined together today to create an independent financial advisory firm to provide services to Kentucky cities, counties, school districts, special taxing districts and non-profit organizations.
The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) Rule G-23 has been amended to prohibit municipal securities underwriters from serving as financial advisor on the same transaction. This rule will dramatically affect Kentucky public finance business models. Civic Finance Advisors will be the first and only independent municipal advisor in Kentucky strategically positioned to meet municipal client objectives.
Chris Bowling of C.D. Bowling & Associates in Lexington is formally changing the name of his company to Civic Finance Advisors, LLC.
Joining Mr. Bowling as principals are Mr. Keith Brock, Mr. Michael George and Ms. Linda Melton, all formerly with Ross, Sinclaire & Associates.
Bowling explains, “Our mission is to be independent advisors, free to secure the most efficient financing option available for our clients.”
Civic Finance Advisors will analyze a variety of complex financing alternatives to provide municipal entities with innovative and customized capital solutions. Civic Finance Advisors is located in Lexington, KY and will service the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky.
