LEBANON, KY (1/6/12) – A central Kentucky automotive parts producer has announced it will add more 150 more jobs to its facility. Wilbert Plastic Services, Inc., (WPS) is a Belmont, North Carolina-based operation with eight facilities across America, including one in Lebanon.
After facility expansion, the Lebanon plant will employ over 250 employees. The project is expected to inject $4.6 million in gross wages into the Marion County economy.
Ford Motor Company recently awarded WPS a new contract to make auto interior components and parts. This contract will support the assembly of the 2013 Ford Escape at the Louisville Assembly Plant.
On behalf of the Marion County Industrial Foundation, the State of Kentucky approved a $1 million community development block grant to help WPS buy needed equipment for the new production.
The announcement comes after another local manufacturing facility, Pacific Die Cut Industries Automotive, publicized its plans to expand and create another 40 jobs.
