LOUISVILLE, KY (1/11/12) – The City of Louisville made the short list of Southern Living magazine’s tastiest towns in the South. As one of only ten finalists in the online contest, Kentucky’s flagship port city has definitely impressed a lot of people with its variety of cuisine.
You can help name The South’s Tastiest Town by casting your vote at the Southern Living website here. Among those getting the most votes so far are Lafayette, La. (55,025 votes), Louisville, Ky. (53,576 votes), New Orleans, La. (25,723 votes), Charleston, S.C. (18,129 votes), and Charlottesville, Va. (11,785 votes).
Southern Living says Louisville is a tasty town because of its restaurant-laden streets like Bardstown Road, Frankfort Avenue with an array of menus. The site asserts that Louisville’s restaurants are "preserving the region's iconic flavors and traditions while subtly redefining southern cuisine."
You can log onto www.southernliving.com and vote for your favorite once per day. The competition ends on January 31 when all the votes will be officially tallied. The winner will be announced in the April issue of Southern Living.
