CALLOWAY KENTUCKY, KY (5/31/12) – Kennith Bargo, Superintendent of Calloway County Schools has announced the appointment of Brian Wilmurth, Principal of Calloway County High School to fill the recently created position of District Assessment Coordinator. Mr. Wilmurth will assume many of the same responsibilities previously held by Assistant Superintendent Randy McCallon, who has been named as the next Superintendent of Carlisle County Schools.
“We are excited to have Brian join us on the Central Office Team”, said Bargo. “His vast knowledge of Calloway County Schools, the learning process, and the needs of our students are a good fit for the job.”
Wilmurth has served as CCHS Principal for the past four years. “It’s bittersweet to leave CCHS”, he said. “This has been a good place to work and I’ve made some great friends among the Administrators, Faculty, Staff and Students. But I’ve prepared myself for my ultimate career goal as a Superintendent and I am looking forward to the challenge of this new opportunity as a step along that path.”
Wilmurth currently serves on the Board of the Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals (KASSP) and on a committee for the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA).
Mr. Bargo also announced the retirement of Dennis Fisher, Principal at Southwest Calloway Elementary. “I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Dennis on his retirement”, said Bargo. “He’s been an excellent Principal and leaves Southwest Elementary in great shape for the future.”
Fisher has been Principal at Southwest for the past five years and also previously served as Director of Pupil Personnel, as well as other positions in the Calloway County School District.
