CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (6/9/12) – In 1980, Murray-Calloway County Hospital opened its own ambulance service, headed up by Jerry Gorrell. 32 years later, Gorrell has retired with June 1 being his last day with the hospital.

After 32 years of service to Murray-Calloway County Hospital as Director of Ambulance Services, Jerry Gorrell retired Friday, June 1, 2012. Gorrell ran the ambulance service when it first came to MCCH in 1980. Pictured, Lisa Ray, Vice President of Patient Care Services, presents Gorrell with a plaque during a retirement reception. Gorrell arrived with a walking cane outfitted with a toy siren, eliciting several laughs from attendees.
