CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (6/11/12) – Two people have been taken to the hospital following a collision Sunday afternoon just before 3 p.m.
According the Kentucky State Police, 47-year-old John Roberts and 83-year-old Martha Rogers were both traveling south on KY 121 S. Mr. Roberts attempted to pass Ms. Rogers' vehicle in a passing zone. Due to an oncoming vehicle, Mr. Roberts misjudged the clearance making contact with Ms. Rogers' vehicle as he returned to the southbound lane. Ms. Rogers' ran her vehicle off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
Calloway County EMS transported Martha and Carrol Rogers to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. The roadway was closed to one lane for approximately one hour.
Trooper James Martin was assisted at the scene by Trooper Trevor Pervine and the Calloway County Fire Department. Trooper Martin continues his investigation.
