CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (9/21/12) – The Kentucky State Police, in conjunction with the Murray Police Department, Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce, and Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, executed multiple arrests warrants on various Calloway County residents early Friday morning.
Operation “Up in Smoke” was the culmination of over eight months of investigation by the Kentucky State Police, Murray Police Department and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce into the trafficking of illegal drugs in and around Murray.
Over 30 law enforcement personnel gathered at 5:30 a.m. in Calloway County before dispersing throughout the county in order to locate individuals for whom arrest warrants had already been obtained. By 9 a.m., officers had located and charged 14 individuals for various drug charges.
The Kentucky State Police, Murray Police Department, and the Pennyrile Narcotics Taskforce are continuing their investigations and more arrests are expected to follow.
