CADIZ, KY (11/11/12) – On Saturday, November 10, at approximately 5:30 AM, the Cadiz Police Department responded to a reported assault at Barkley Manor Apartments in Cadiz, KY.
Latosha Woods, of E-37 Barkley Manor, told police that 28-year-old Deronte A. Moss, who she has a child in common with, knocked on the door of the apartment. When she opened the door, Moss forced his way in and began an argument with Woods and a 17-year-old Male juvenile. Moss reportedly stabbed the juvenile in the arm with a knife.
The juvenile was taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment. Woods also suffered minor injuries during the fight.
According to police officials, Moss had left the scene before police arrival.
Cadiz Police and the Murray Police Department were able to locate Moss at a Pine Street residence in Murray around 10:30 AM. Murray Police took Moss into custody.
Moss had injuries on his hands consistent with knife wounds and was treated at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. He was then released to the custody of Cadiz Police Sgt. Chad Grace and returned to Trigg County where he was charged with two counts of Second-Degree Assault and one count of Burglary - 1st Degree.
Moss was also served a Trigg County arrest warrant for Second-Degree Burglary stemming from a November 5, 2012 incident where Moss forced his way into Woods' apartment and assaulted her. Moss fled the scene with police looking for him since the November 5 incident.
