CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (1/21/13) – On Friday, January 18, 2013, at approximately 9:40 PM, the Kentucky State Police was involved in an attempted traffic stop that resulted in a fleeing suspect, and inevitably in an accident.
Post 1 Trooper David Dick observed a vehicle traveling on Sherman Rd with a broken taillight. Trooper Dick initiated his emergency equipment, and the vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Kenton A. Doran of new Concord, KY, failed to yield. Doran proceeded down Sherman Road, and then made a left turn onto Kline Trail. From there, Doran turned left onto Shannon Creek Road where he failed to negotiate a curve and exited the right side of the roadway striking a tree, where the vehicle came to a final rest.
Doran was charged with Reckless Driving, DUI, Fleeing and Evading Police, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change, Possession of Controlled Substance, Wanton Endangerment and Not Tail Lamps.
Doran was arrested and is currently housed in the Calloway County Detention Center.
