MURRAY, Ky. (2/18/13) – Due to the threat of rain and the hazard posed by an oil slick along KY 2075/North 4th Street in Murray, the KYTC Calloway County Highway Maintenance Crew has placed message boards at each end of this section to alert motorists to potential traction issues.
Most of the oil appears to be along the northbound lane, but may be tracked over to the southbound lane in places. Fine gravel spread over the oil slick has helped provide better traction and absorbed the oil.
Message boards will remain along this section until sometime Tuesday morning when an environmental remediation team should complete clean-up of the area.
Motorists are advised to continue to use caution along KY 2075/North 4th Street between Andrus Drive and the Bee Creek Bridge. This is the connector from downtown Murray to US 641 North.
