CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (3/8/13) – Three Reading Recovery teachers from Calloway County Schools- Beth Durbin, Gretchen Akers, and Susan Miles- attended the National Reading Recovery Conference in February held in Columbus, Ohio.
 
Training sessions at the conference were presented by leading national authorities in Reading Recovery and Literacy.
 
The Reading Recovery program is designed to assist primary students, struggling as they learn to read, to keep up with their classmates. They receive individual or small group instruction on a temporary basis until they develop their reading skills. After 12 - 20 weeks, most attain an average or better reading level and require no further help.
