CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (4/11/13) – On Saturday, April 13, 2013, the Calloway County High School Chemistry team will travel to the University of Tennessee- Martin to compete in the American Chemical Society’s National Chemistry Olympiad. Students will compete with 1000 other students from across the nation for a top 20 finish, which earns a spot at a two week long study camp at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado before traveling to the International Chemistry Olympiad in Moscow, Russia in late July.
Three Calloway County High School students were invited to compete in this prestigious tournament based on their performance at Murray State’s 42nd Annual Chemistry Scholarship Tournament in November. Team members for the ACS event will be: Landon Fike, 1st place at MSU tournament; Simon Mikulcik, 3rd place at MSU tournament; and Aaron Collie, 4th place at MSU tournament. The team is coached by chemistry teacher, Erica Gray.
