CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (5/31/13) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a two-vehicle fatality collision that occurred on Friday, May 31, 2013 at approximately 6:00 a.m. The collision occurred on US 641, approximately one mile south of Murray, KY.
Preliminary investigation shows that Bobby Alexander, 38 of Camden, TN, was operating a 1996 Saturn SL2 northbound on US 641. Jennifer Thompson, 25 of New Concord, KY was operating a 2004 Mazda M6S traveling southbound on US 641. Kyle Robertson, 30 of Murray, KY was a passenger in her vehicle.
For an unknown reason, Alexander lost control and crossed the center line, sliding sideways and was struck on the passenger side of his car, as Thompson was traveling southbound.
Calloway County Coroner pronounced the Alexander dead at the scene. All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. Thompson and Robertson were transported to the Murray Calloway County Hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.
Trooper Jody Cash is continuing the investigation.
Trooper Cash was assisted on the scene by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, Murray Calloway County EMS, Calloway County Coroner’s Office, Murray Fire Department, and Calloway County Fire Rescue.
