MURRAY, Ky. (6/5/13) – The Calloway County Board of Education has named Jodi Butler to the new position of Alternative Instructional Facility Director-Principal tasked with oversight of the three reorganized alternative programs (Day Treatment, Alternative Education, and P.R.I.D.E.). Restructuring of the existing alternative education organization was necessary due to reduced enrollment and funding over the past few years.
Ms. Butler comes to the new position from Reidland High School where she served as an assistant principal for the past two years. At RHS she was responsible for discipline and took a special interest in at-risk students through home visits and phone calls to assist them in successfully completing their high school education.
Before moving into school administration, Ms. Butler taught science at Reidland, Graves County, and Marshall County high schools.
“I am excited to become a part of the Calloway County Alternative Instructional Facility”, she said. “I have a heart for students and look forward to helping them achieve great things. This is not just a career for me, it's a purpose. “
