MURRAY, Ky. (6/24/13) – On June 21, 2013, at approximately 7:16 PM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Troopers responded to a report of an accident on 641 South.
After a short investigation, Troopers found that 59-year-old Wanda Hunter was traveling north on US 641 when her attention was diverted. Ms. Hunter's vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and she over-corrected, causing the vehicle to cross back over both lanes and off the left side of the roadway. As her vehicle left the roadway, it began to rotate clockwise until the wheels dug into the ground, causing the vehicle to overturn. Ms. Hunter's vehicle overturned approximately three times before coming to a final rest on its wheels, facing south.
A passenger in the vehicle, 40-year-old Nekesha Green, had to be extricated from the vehicle and both were transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for their injuries.
Kentucky State was assisted on scene by Murray-Calloway County EMS, Murray Fire Department and Calloway County Fire Rescue. Sergeant Ryan Dawson is conducting the investigation.
