Inmate Found Dead at Hopkins County Detention Center

investigation 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/3/13) – On Sunday, March 3, 2013 at approximately 5:30 AM, the body of an inmate was found inside the Hopkins County Detention Center.

According to Kentucky State Police (KSP) officials, at approximately 6:01 AM, KSP Troopers received notice of a deceased inmate at the Hopkins County Detention Center. After arriving on scene, Troopers found that 63-year-old Charles W. Young was deceased, as was announced by Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield.

According to officials, a cause of death has yet to be determined, but an autopsy will be performed on Monday at the Western Kentucky medical Examiner’s Office, located in Madisonville.

No foul play is expected at this time.

The investigation is ongoing by Detective Lloyd Ray.
