Accident Caused by Wet Highways

accident w injuries redCHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (1/27/12) – On Thursday, Jan. 26, at approximately 8:02 PM in the evening hours, Kentucky State Police (KSP) officials responded to the scene of an alleged accident with injuries at the 9 mile-marker ramp of Pennyrile Parkway.

Once on the scene, KSP Troopers found that 25-year-old Carl Cunningham of Hopkinsville had been operating his 1993 Jeep SUV on the southbound ramp of the Pennyrile Parkway at the 9mm. Due to the slippery roadway surface; Cunningham’s vehicle lost traction and began to spin. Cunningham overcorrected the vehicle causing it to hit the left side guardrail and come to final rest.

Cunningham was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries he sustained in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Derek Smith.
