Hopkinsville Woman Allegedly Assaults Police Officer

G WASHINGTONHOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/2/12) – A Hopkinsville woman has been cited for assault after hitting a police officer. According to the Hopkinsville Police report, 31-year-old Georgina Washington was arrested following the incident which occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

The report says Washington call the Emergency Communications Center twice and cursed at dispatchers. She then came to the police department to report a crime. An officer explained to her that what she described was not a crime under Kentucky statutes. Washington then is reported to have screamed, “Why did you bring me here?”

The officer attempted to calm Washington to no avail. At this point, Lieutenant Alexander walked up and Washington started punching him. Washington reportedly continued to fight while being placed under arrest.

Washington is charged with disorderly conduct, 3rd degree assault and falsely reporting an incident.
