wannabeatlesHOPKINSVILLE, KY (2/9/12) – The WannaBeatles are making a second trip to Hopkinsville just in time for Valentine’s Day. The Nashville-based group first appeared here on February 14, 2011. The musical tribute band features four musicians, each with a passion for the songs of John, Paul, George, and Ringo – The Beatles.

Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Gary McIntyre says last year was a huge success, “They put on a great show at the Alhambra. Everyone who attended enjoyed it and I’ve never before attended an event at the Alhambra where everyone in the theatre was on their feet and they were.”

McIntyre says the group has been nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award and will be in Los Angeles on Sunday, just two days before their Hopkinsville show, “We’re really behind these guys and hope they win that Grammy and hope they bring it back here and we can share in the congratulations.”

The show is set for Tuesday, February 14 at 7 p.m. at the Alhambra Theatre. Tickets are $14 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Recreation Center, the Chamber of Commerce and the L&N Depot. You can buy them online at www.oldies1480.com or www.hoptownrec.com or you can phone 1-888-71-TICKETS.

McIntyre says he is anticipating a good crowd and hopes to make this a Valentine’s Day tradition in Hopkinsville. He was very candid in encouraging the community’s support, “When the community comes out and supports it and attends it, it makes it so much easier for us to do things like this again in the future.” He added that the opposite is also true.
