CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (2/29/12) – On Feb. 28, 2012, Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a reported accident with a child injured on Pennyrile Parkway.
After a short investigation, Troopers found that 23-year-old Becky Wallen was traveling south on the Pennyrile Parkway when she let go of her steering wheel, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. Wallen overcorrected when she attempted to regain control of the vehicle, sending the vehicle into the median. The vehicle then struck a guardrail and overturned several times before coming to final rest on its top.
The juvenile passenger, a 5-year-old female, was not in a child restraint device and was ejected from the vehicle during the roll over.
The juvenile was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center by Life Flight for treatment.
