HOPKINSVILLE, KY (3/9/12) – Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department are investigating an incident where shots were fired in a neighborhood. Police got the call around 7:30 Thursday evening that shots had been fired in the 1200 block of East 18th Street.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with three adults who were listed as the victims on the report. They advised police that the suspect fired four or five shots into the air with a hand gun. The witnesses say the shots were fired after the suspect was denied a cigarette. The suspect, who police say is a juvenile, fled the scene on a bicycle in the direction of Jones Street.
No one was injured during the incident. The suspect faces potential charges of 1st degree wanton endangerment and 3rd degree terroristic threatening. Police say the investigation remains open.
