HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (3/3/13) – On Tuesday, March 5, 2013, approximately 580 eleventh graders of CCPS will be required to take the ACT college entrance exam. The ACT is a curriculum and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students’ academic readiness for college.
“We are holding a higher standard for our students to become college and career ready and we believe that the ACT is a great tool to use for both students and the district, as it helps us to capture areas where improvements must be made in order to prepare our students for success,” says Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill.
Testing for juniors will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5. Tests will be proctored at both Christian County and Hopkinsville High School. Both schools plan to feed students breakfast prior to the start of the assessment and lunch afterwards. It is imperative that students attend school on this day to avoid rescheduling of test-taking. If inclement weather puts the district in a position to cancel school on this day, the state has provided make up days for students to take the test.
