city Hopkinsville 300KENTUCKY (4/12/13) – Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp invites members of classes 2013 and 2014 to apply for the seventh annual Summer in the City Internship Program. Held May 28 – June 14, the internship features a $500 stipend and a letter of recommendation for interns who successfully complete the three-week program.
 
Up to four interns will be selected to participate.
 
Summer in the City is an initiative Mayor Kemp launched during his first year in office in cooperation with local high schools. During the program, interns are offered the opportunity to work various facets of municipal government while also receiving valuable workplace readiness and other skills.
 
To be program eligible, applicants must be high school juniors or seniors at the time of selection, Christian County residents, and 16 years old by June 1, 2013.
